The Affordable Care Act extends special benefits and protections to American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN) including limits on cost sharing and special monthly enrollment periods in the Exchange, and an exemption from the individual mandate.

Covered California is committed to strengthening and sustaining an effective government-to government relationship between the Exchange and the Tribes by cultivating reciprocal trust and respect through a meaningful consultation process.
